Swervle

Terms of Service

Accepting these terms

By playing Swervle, creating an account, or adding the Swervle bot to a Discord server, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who can play

Swervle is intended for players aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, please do not create an account, submit a run, or connect Discord.

The service

Swervle is a free daily time-trial game. One map is published each day and every player races the same map. You can race without an account; an account is optional and only needed to claim a public identity and carry results across devices.

Swervle is provided as-is and may change. Maps, features, leaderboards, and the Discord bot may be added, altered, paused, or withdrawn at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and a day's map or board may be unavailable during maintenance or an incident.

Your account and public identity

Your Swervle display name is the only thing about you that appears publicly on a leaderboard, a share card, or a Discord message. Your email address and internal identifiers are never public.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. Do not share an account or impersonate another player.

Fair play

Every leaderboard time is verified on the server from the run's recorded inputs. The server's verdict is authoritative; a result produced anywhere else does not count. You agree not to:

We may remove a result, reset a display name, or suspend an account when a run or a name breaks these rules.

Display names, vehicle paint, and conduct

Swervle is a 13+ game. Display names and vehicle paint, including any text, images, or symbols, must be appropriate for players aged 13 and over.

These rules apply even if content passes an automated filter. Players can report inappropriate names and paint for moderator review. We may reset a display name, remove or replace paint, or suspend an account that breaks these rules.

Runs, replays, and content you submit

When you submit a run you keep whatever rights you have in it, and you grant Swervle permission to store it and to use it to operate the service — to verify the time, publish it on the relevant leaderboards, generate share and challenge links and their preview cards, and review it for integrity and game quality. This permission lasts as long as we retain the run under the retention and deletion rules in the Privacy & Data notice.

Using the Discord bot

Connecting Discord is optional, and so is adding the bot to a server. If you add the bot to a Discord server you control, you confirm you are permitted to do so under that server's rules and Discord's own terms.

Swervle is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord.

Leaderboards and results

A daily board stays open: a verified run enters its day's board whenever it is raced. We may correct, recompute, or remove a result when it is wrong, cannot be verified, or was produced in breach of these terms. Where a change to the game means older runs can no longer be re-verified, affected results may be retired.

Ending your use

You can stop playing at any time and can request deletion of your account and associated data as described in the Privacy & Data notice. We may suspend or end access to the service for a player who breaks these terms, or where required to protect the service or other players.

No warranty

Swervle is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result, time, or ranking will be preserved indefinitely.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Swervle and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, results, rankings, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the game changes. The current version always lives at this address, and the date below reflects the last change. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
