Who can play

Swervle is intended for players aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, please do not create an account or submit a run.

Playing without an account

You can open a daily or a challenge link and race without signing up. Racing comes first; creating an account is optional and only needed to claim a public identity and carry results across devices.

What we save

We save the data needed to understand the game and run fair, verified leaderboards:

• Random first-party visitor and 30-minute visit identifiers. They are not browser fingerprints.
• Approximate country and, in the United States, state. We do not store an IP address, an IP hash, city, postal code, coordinates, or network identity.
• Gameplay funnel events such as a map loading, a race starting or ending, account creation, and challenge-link referrals.
• Your race time and available run inputs (a replay), including complete or partial terminal attempts, so results can be independently reviewed and re-verified.
• The public display name you choose for leaderboards and challenge links.
• If you create an account, the identity details from your sign-in provider needed to authenticate you. We do not store your password.

Authorized operators can spectate saved replays for integrity and game-quality review. The service may compare a request address in memory with the operator network allowlist to protect the admin site and exclude operator testing from analytics by default. The address is discarded and is not saved or logged. Swervle may also load Microsoft Clarity where disclosed by the site consent controls; Clarity is separate from the first-party records described above.

Share and challenge pages are marked not to be indexed by search engines and never expose your email address or any internal identifier.

Advertising

On beta.swervle.com, we use Ezoic for advertising and ad analytics, with Gatekeeper consent controls. Ezoic and its advertising partners may use cookies, device information, and your IP address to deliver and measure ads. Where consent is required, use the consent dialog to choose whether to allow these purposes. Ezoic's privacy disclosures for Swervle.

Swervle may show Google ads. Google and other advertisers may place and read cookies, use web beacons, and collect a device or IP address so they can serve and measure ads.

How Google uses that data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Opt out of personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.

Connecting Discord

Connecting Discord is optional. If you choose it, Swervle stores your Discord user ID, private profile metadata needed to show the connection to you, the Swervle Discord communities you share, your notification choices, and bounded message-delivery records. Public race messages continue to use only your Swervle display name.

Discord authorization tokens are discarded after the linking transaction. Direct messages are off by default and can be disabled independently in your Swervle account settings. Disconnecting Discord removes community participation and notification preferences. Account deletion also tombstones the Discord link. Operational delivery logs follow the service retention policy and never include OAuth codes, access tokens, email addresses, or bot credentials.

How long we keep it

Raw first-party analytics events and anonymous visitor or visit records are normally retained for 13 months. Unclaimed guest replays are normally retained for 90 days unless an active public challenge needs them. Account-linked races, replays, and referral records follow the account deletion policy. Encrypted recovery data is held on the service's rolling backup schedule.

Reporting a name

Every display name passes an automated filter, and you can report any name shown on a results screen. A moderator reviews each report and can reset an offending name.

Deleting your data

You can request deletion of your account and associated data. Deletion revokes your sessions and shares, hides your public results, and removes the free text from any reports you filed, while retaining the minimum records required for race integrity and audit purposes.

To request access to or deletion of your data, email privacy@swervle.com. Signed-in players can also start deletion from their account settings once accounts are available.
